Automation of Coating Systems

A vacuum coating system is a complex system. It consists of numerous individual components – such as assembly robots, substrate handling systems, pumps, valves, measuring tubes, power sources and safety interlocks. In addition thereto, there is extensive data acquisition and connection to a wide range of databases. All these components must be closely coordinated, in order to achieve optimum results. High degree of reliability and, therefore, productivity and safety can only be guaranteed if everything interacts correctly. Even if a system is to be retrofitted, the new parts must be consistently integrated in terms of both software and hardware. 

CUSTOMIZED SOFTWARE

FHR’s software engineers and automation technicians design the entire electrical system and create the software for each system themselves. We, therefore, have already created software libraries for many components. We rewrite the software for new components, or for connection to the customer’s own systems. Upon request, we can also design and automate suitable assembly and loading machines for your system. In order to ensure convenient operations, the software also includes visualization as standard, the option of setting up different user levels, alarm and fault logging with plain text output, logging, display and export of relevant process data and formula control with freely programmable sequences.
